Our Community At The Design Quarter

IMG_2114.jpg

At Design Quarter (DQ), we are building a transformative community that uplifts talented youth artisans while advancing key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our focus is clear: to turn local skill and creativity into sustainable livelihoods.

We believe in the power of community — a place where talented youth and skilled artisans come together, find support, and grow. We’re home to over 1,000 creative hands and minds, all working with locally sourced materials to craft beautiful, meaningful products.

But we also know that talent alone isn’t enough. Many of our artisans face real challenges: limited visibility, little access to markets, scarce resources, and few opportunities for mentorship. That’s why Design Quarter exists — to open doors.

We’ve built a free showroom where their creations can shine and find buyers. We’ve set up a shared workshop, fully equipped, so they can produce, improve, and scale their craft. And we create regular opportunities — through events, markets, and collaborations — for them to connect with customers, businesses, and each other.

Our community is about more than making and selling. It’s about building futures. Every time you support an artisan here, you’re helping reduce poverty, promote decent work, and encourage responsible, local production.

We are turning local craft into sustainable livelihoods — and we’d love for you to be part of the story.

Collaborate with us.

SDG 1: No Poverty

DQ creates income-generating opportunities for marginalized youth by addressing poverty at its roots. Through our platform, over 1,000 skilled artisans — many facing barriers like limited capital, resources, and market access — now have a chance to earn a dignified living through their craft.

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

DQ champions responsible consumption and production by encouraging the use of locally sourced materials. This not only supports sustainable production practices but also strengthens the local economy, creating a cycle of shared prosperity.

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

By fostering entrepreneurship, DQ contributes to sustained economic growth and productive employment. We provide a free showroom where artisans can showcase their handmade products, bringing them out of the shadows and into the market spotlight. Additionally, our shared workshop, equipped with essential tools, enables artisans to scale their production, improve quality, and meet growing demand.
